John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who focused on folk pop music was a hit with millions of fans. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in over Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Denver's enduring songs about his state of origin inspired many people to move to Colorado. I can't think of any more famous performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the first Hall of Fame to be inducted into the hall. He is now regarded as the embodiment of Colorado by people across the world. In my travels I've encountered people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado First words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint in folk groups and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track with Johnny Cash in mind but once Denver first heard the song he knew right away it was an instant hit. After performing the track at Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver recorded it just days later.
