He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, Denver fell in love with Colorado and later settled in Aspen. Many people took the road to Colorado after hearing Denver's popular songs for his home state. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame claimed that John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. The year 2011 was the year that John Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Today, he is seen as the personification of Colorado by people all over.
