Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, chose her name after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father was from a Jewish background. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California, when she was just seven years old. They didn't have electricity. Ryder would read extensively due to the lack of television. Ryder, then 12, enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Lucas was released in 1986, and Ryder who was just 15 years old, was offered an acting job as a lead actress. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her performing career, she thought to help, could have helped her. It didn't turn out. However, she continued to pursue her goals. In 1988 she had her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful characters in numerous films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
